I didn’t like how it opens, it’s very cold and uninviting and you are basically left to stab in the dark and hope one of the tutorial signs helps you, that said after a short time you are in good spirits and then the gotta collect em all blueprint urge kicks in. What immediately hit me when playing was how easy it was to learn and how it felt like a dungeon run in a Zelda game all the way down to the Enchanting music. As a roguelike when you die you lose everything and start again (you get to keep a small percentage of gold but it’s not that much), you can use the currency in-game however to buy permanent upgrades like damage and health, use harder to find currency Thorium to craft powerful artifacts that can grant blessings or curses as long as you find the items blueprint in a run. You start at the top of a dungeon every run and systematically make your way to the bottom one floor at a time. UnderMine is a very charming action roguelike game. The longer you play the easier it gets. Can increase game difficulty in new game plus runs. Can buy permanent upgrades to health/inventory/damage etc.Can pick up curses as well as blessings. On death, you lose a percentage of gold collected and items are dropped.Every run is different from the mines randomize.Very simple hack and slash combat including ranged throw your weapon attacks.Mifflers-little bar stewards who appear when gold is dropped and will attempt to steal said gold.Gold-mined in-game and used as currency.Blueprints-find them to unlock the ability to buy the item found.Has Zelda dungeon vibes mixed with Spelunky.Hub-rescue people to unlock shops, merchants, and blacksmiths. You descend level by level exploring minds to reach the bottom.Graphics-fullscreen, resolution, graphics quality.Adventure deep into the UnderMine and discover powerful relics, deadly enemies, hidden secrets, and a few friends to help along the way. An action-adventure roguelike with a bit of RPG tossed in. ![]()
